Luke Morcom is a poet. At the age of one week, Luke Morcom was removed from his family and taken to Garden Point Mission where he was given a new, Biblical name. In 1963, he was fostered with a family in suburban Adelaide. In 1972, he returned to the Northern Territory and settled in Darwin where he was reunited with family members. He has worked for the Northern Territory government.
Morcom's story was recorded by the National Library of Australia for the Bringing Them Home oral history project and appeared in the associated publication Many Voices: Reflections on experiences of Indigenous child separation edited by Doreen Mellor and Anna Haebich (2002).
