Lilian De Angelini was born in the city of Pula, on the Adriatic coast. Following WWII this city became part of Yugoslavia. De Angelini migrated to Australia in 1950. After retiring from work in 1982 De Angelini enrolled as a part-time student at Footscray TAFE College, studying English.
