BiographyHistory

Victor Ramos was born in Riobamba, Ecuador. He graduated as an accountant from Colegio Nacional Juan de Velasco de Riobamba and also gained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of New South Wales (UNSW). He has travelled widely in South America and Europe. As a writer of poetry and prose, he has experimented with form, borrowing from traditional forms of other cultures. He has been a member of the groups Voces y Ecos and Círculo de Amigos de las Letras Hispano-Americanas. His work has been read on Radio 2EA and he has read at the poets unions of Wollongong University and UNSW, at La Peña Latin American Cultural Centre and for the Saturday Centre programs, Sydney. Apart from poetry and songs, Ramos has written an architectural work, Iberoamerican Plaza (1989) and Escritos Politicos (1983) on Central American politics.
