Kevin Kidd was educated in Rockhampton and Emerald and enjoyed many years travelling throughout Australia. He worked in the state and federal public services, and in World War II he served as a volunteer in the 42nd Infantry Battalion and in the Australian Imperial Force (AIF) as a member of the 2/9 Australian Infantry Battalion.
