AbstractHistoryArchive Description

A werewolf, sent to quarantine on an island in Moreton Bay, listens to his keeper tell him the story of how he was turned.

Notes

  • Steampunk note: This story combines fantastical elements with anachronism, a historical viewpoint and pseudo-Victorianism. The keeper's story includes a colonial war in 'Genericstan', where 'we had Maxim guns, steam-tanks and airships' and the armoured division had 'the latest in turbine-driven mecha-elephants with armoured howdahs'.
