AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'Both boys and girls will enjoy this tale of school life in an Australian country centre, where rivalry is keen between the sports teams of neighbouring schools. An important football match is to decide the leadership beween Sunnymount and Findon schools, but a disastrous accident deprives Sunnymount of its captain and best player. Dick and Bill, two Sunnymount boys, are over whelmed by their chum's misfortune, and in order to help him to recovery they hit upon the idea of seeking for gold in some of the creeks, where in former days it abounded. Helped by Dick's sister Debbie, and impeded by two small folk whom they are obliged to let into the secret, the young prospectors stumble upon an old mystery surrounding an aged miner and his stolen gold. How it is all solved, and the fate of lame Bob, and the outcome of the great football match will keep the interest of readers fully alive until the last word is told.'
