In mid-1934, newspapers reported that Avalanche was being considered for a possible Empire broadcast by the BBC, which would have been a first for a South Australian author. The radio play was taken to England by a British entertainer, Rupert Hazell, who had been touring Australia. There is, however, no trace of a BBC broadcast of the play.

Broadcast on 5CL (Adelaide) on Thursday 8 February 1934, from 8pm.
Cast members included Roger Barry, Iris Thomas, Ray Walsh, and Carl Krohmer.
So successful was the first broadcast that it was broadcast again (with the same cast) on 5 March 1934.
A third broadcast on 5CL on Thursday 7 March 1935 had a (partly) new cast: Iris Thomas, Pirie Bush, and A.V. Dupen.
