'A call to the wild, Cimarrón speaks to an aspect of humanity which is all but lost. This work of contemporary performance aims to evoke an instinctual and primal element – to reveal the savage beast that lingers behind our social façades. It challenges and interrogates conservative Australia and urban lifestyle. It is a call to reclaim our place within the wild and awaken our inner beast, to reconnect.

'Bold and evocative in its imagery Cimarrón employs the physical body to explore diverse representations of the savage and civilised, offering an alternative view of the female form – a stark contrast to mainstream culture.

'The Spanish word Cimarrón refers to that which cannot be tamed – slaves that have escaped captivity to live on the edges of society.

'Are we slaves to the socio-political structure we ourselves created?
