  • Fabulous Food From Asia

This collection of resources highlights the influence of Asian food on the cuisine of Australia. A number of the texts, including Noodle Pie, Thai-Riffic and The Punjabi Pappadum recount the perceived difficulties and sometimes the real embarrassments suffered by Asian-Australian youth because of different attitudes to the food they eat. Other resources refer to Asian food in Asia including a number of media clips of chefs who travel to the land of their cultural heritage and introduce viewers, not only to the food, but also the landscapes and the peoples.

At school he is a bit of a troublemaker, going to any lengths to hide his background. But when his best friend decides to become Thai for a day for a school project, Lengy stubbornly comes to the realisation that there may just be some pretty cool things about his culture.'
