AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'WIZARDS OF OZ is a documentary series for ABC1 and BBC4, focusing on four Australians – satirist Barry Humphries, art critic Robert Hughes, writer and thinker Germaine Greer, and poet, writer and broadcaster Clive James – who left Australia in the

1950s and 1960s and became cultural icons, and sometimes iconoclasts, in the great cultural kingdoms of London and New York. The series is hosted by Booker Prize–winner Howard Jacobson, who left Britain in 1964 to replace Germaine Greer as a lecturer at the University of Sydney.' (Source: Screen Australia website)
