AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'Two men at the end of the world (or just at the end of their wits) have been charged with a terrible responsibility: to commit the cold-blooded murder of another man.

'Vagrants Joseph and Karl inhabit a disgusting hovel in which time seems to have stopped. Outside, a climate gone haywire has triggered the storm of a lifetime. Again. Meanwhile, the telephone will not stop ringing. Joseph and Karl know what they have to do to the hostage in the other room, but seem to be running out of time. As their health and sanity begin to deteriorate under the strain of their undertaking the sounds of a world long since gone begin to pierce the long nights

'With an increasingly tenuous grasp on reality, and the very real danger of the man in the other room, Karl and Joseph are pushed to the brink. For how much longer can they be sure just who are the victims, and who the real enemy is? And how do they make sense of their almost forgotten place in a cold, dark universe?'
