BiographyHistory

Cyril Rigney was a 19 year old, married, labourer when he enlisted into the AIF on 26 April 1916, Adelaide, South Australia, joining his uncle Gordon Rigney to serve in the first World War. He signed on as a Private with the 43rd Battalion (Infantry) and was killed in action on 3 July 1917 in Belgium, leaving behind a wife, Mrs Constance Maude Rigney. He is buried in the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium.
