Literature of Tasmania was developed from January 2006 to the end of 2008 under the leadership of Dr Philip Mead (at left) with research assistance and data collection and record creation undertaken by Dr Tony Stagg and Ralph Spalding. It was supported by the Australian Research Council and the University of Tasmania.

The University of Tasmania takes special responsibility for recording this field of Australian literature.
