Tells the simple story of a wombat's attempt to escape an approaching bushfire. The music, written by George Selwyn English and scored for an instrumental group of ten players, combines with the poetic narration to create a vivid and moving account of a very Australian phenomenon.

1 1 Good Catch John Cazabon , George English (composer), 1934 single work musical theatre humour

Little is known of the storyline in this musical comedy. In a preview published in the Sydney Morning Herald, the writer notes only that, 'the plot is slender, but the action never flags, and some of the dialogue is excellent. The music score contains many lively numbers' ('Good Catch : Musical Comedy at Savoy' 22 March 1934, p.10).
