1231 Publishing was established by author, editor, publisher and designer Delia Strange in the northern Brisbane suburb of Kallangur. In addition to the works of Strange, including her collaborations with fellow-Brisbane writer Linda Conlon (Wanderer of Worlds series), it also operates as a typesetting and book design service.

In September 2016 1231 Publishing released its first anthology, Obliquity. A collection of seventeen short stories inspired by the definition of the word (which means 'deviation from moral rectitude or sound thinking').
