'Senses of Paris is a collaboration of words and illustrations by two old friends inspired by Paris. Author, Robin Bower, and artist, Christine Vandenbergh, have created a visual commentary on their impressions of this city that is both a romantic cliché and a chaotic modern metropolis.

'Twenty-five years after each of us journeyed to Paris in separate circumstances, what most struck us about the present city was the diversity and delight of its people.

'After our trip together, we thought about how we could record our journey to do justice to Paris as much as that can be done. Every aspect imbibes the mind, body and soul with cultural diversity, artistic heritage, ancient structures, and gastronomic delights. We decided to depict the essence of the city through the senses. You might consider it an illuminated journal, or a coffee table book where you can sip at leisure, or a gift for lovers of all things Parisian. For us, it has been a journey into marking a place with our own pen and brush through all of our senses.' (Publication summary)
