Quentin Shaddock Spedding, OBE (1892 - 1974) was a journalist and newspaper editor. He began his journalistic career in 1910 with "The Newcastle Morning Herald" and was a foundation member of the Australian Journalists' Association. After working for the "Daily Telegraph", he was editor of the "Labor Daily" between 1925 and 1929, then managing editor until 1931. He was later managing editor of "Smith's Weekly" in Melbourne and a senior reporter and sub-editor for "The Truth". Between 1946 and 1964 he was press secretary and speech writer for several NSW premiers.
