Mary Schneider is a singer and Australia’s “Queen of Yodelling”. She appeared in hundreds of television programs, as a solo artist or with her sister Rita in the Schneider Sisters, from the start of TV in 1956 and on radio as well. She was also part of TV variety show singing groups like the Claire Poole Singers and the Chordettes. She has won five Mo Awards, among many others, and continues to write songs, perform and record. Mary Schneider released a CD in early 2012 of songs she performed with her sister Rita in the 1950s: “The Schneider Sisters - the early years”.
There are two oral histories with the Schneider Sisters in the National Film and Sound Archive.
