The collection comprises the original audio cassette recordings of the oral history interviews Dr Huggett conducted with thirty local Illawarra residents during 1955 and 1999 for her PhD thesis 'A Cultural History of Cinema-Going in the Illawarra (1900-1950)'.

Comments

A summary table of interview contents, as well as full transcripts of interviews, are included in Volume 2 of the author's thesis, available for reference in the UOW Library Thesis Collection (T 791.4309/64). The transcript numbers do not correspond with the original cassette item numbers so they are included in this inventory to assist with cross-referencing.

Digital audio of the interviews is included on a CD as an appendix to Volume 2. In addition, Volume 1 of the author's thesis is available for viewing on the UOW Research Online institutional repository website: http://ro.uow.edu.au/theses/246.
