The Australian Literature Resource
The Federated Search beta is an experimental feature being developed as part of the Aus-e-Lit project.
In addition to AustLit works and agents, the Federated Search returns results from the following online data sources. More data sources will be added as the project progresses.
The Federated Search includes results from AustLit's full text collections. See the about full text page for information about the included collections.
AusStage records information on live performance in Australia. The Federated Search performs an on-demand search over AusStage events and contributors. Click on an event title or contributor name in the Federated Search results to access the full details at www.ausstage.edu.au
PictureAustralia provides a search service over pictorial collections hosted at Australasian cultural agencies including galleries, libraries and archives. Future details and higher resolution images can be accessed via pictureaustralia.org by clicking on the thumbnails in the Federated Search results.
PeopleAustralia is an online resource discovery service created by The National Library of Australia which aims to allow users to access biographical and contextual information about significant Australian people.
The Australasian Digital Theses (ADT) Program provides a distributed database of digital versions of theses produced by postgraduate research students at Australian universities.
Clicking on a title in the ADT result listing opens the corresponding detailed thesis record at adt.caul.edu.au, and this record provides a link to the digital thesis.
The Internet Archive provides an archive of web sites and cultural artifacts in digital form.
Books & Collectibles is an Australian service providing a search engine that sources rare, used and out of print books from online book stores and sites.
Click on the More details links in Federated Search results to view full details at www.booksandcollectibles.com.au.
Google Book Search provides previews and a search service over millions of books from libraries and publishers worldwide.
For results where Google Book Search provides a partial or full text of the book, the tags partial text or full text are shown next to the title in the Federated Search results. Click on the title link or cover thumbnail image to view the full details of the work at books.google.com.
LibraryThing is an online library cataloging application.
Click on the result title or author name links to view detailed information about the matching works and authors at www.librarything.com.
Flickr is an online photo management and sharing application.
Federated search results are retrieved using the Flickr photo search API. Click on the image thumbnails to view full details, copyright and licensing information at flickr.com.
Wikipedia is a free online collaborative Encylopedia.
