The Australian Literature Resource

How to use the Anthology
The front page of the Anthology contains the Introduction to the publication by Linda Hale and Leigh Dale. The 'Home' link in the grey panel will take you back to this page.
Using the Contents list and Author entries
The anthology contains a 'Contents' list which will provide you with direct access to the PDFs of each article by clicking on the title.
The 'Authors' link provides access to the author entries devised for the Anthology. Each author entry contains brief biographical details and a selected bibliographical listing for easily accessible information about the author.
Links to AustLit database content are also available here. (If you are outside a subscribing organisation you will be prompted for a user name and password. Check at your library to see if you have full access to AustLit or contact us for guest access.)
Citing the Anthology
Cite an Anthology essay by quoting author, article title and publication details. For example: Baker, Candida, 'Peter Carey', The AustLit Anthology of Criticism, St Lucia, Qld: AustLit, 2009.
When using AustLit as an information resource for research you will not normally need to cite us, however, if you are quoting directly from any of the annotations, the biography or other notes, you should cite AustLit as: 'AustLit (www.austlit.edu.au), 2002-' and include the name of the author or work title.
For example - 'Author record, Patrick White, AustLit (www.austlit.edu.au), 2002- [Retrieved dd/mm/yyyy]' or 'Work record, Voss, AustLit (www.austlit.edu.au), 2002- [Retrieved dd/mm/yyyy]'.
Printing
PDFs of all critical articles can be printed. The Introduction and author entries can be printed by clicking the 'Printable version' link in the top right-hand corner of each page, however users should be aware that printing the author entries will print the entire web page and will include all author entries. It is recommended that you copy and paste specific author entries into a separate document for printing.
