AustLit owns copyright of the data contained in AustLit, and of the information storage and retrieval solutions that AustLit uses. Users are free to use AustLit records, including full text records, in accordance with the fair dealing provisions of the Australian Copyright Act 1968 and international copyright laws. This includes the right to view, print, email, download and save AustLit records for the purposes of individual research, study, criticism and review. However, the publication of AustLit data as a part of, or as the basis for a book, directory, published bibliography or database or for any other compilation, is not permitted without the prior consent of the AustLit Board of Management. Educational institutions subscribing to AustLit may include AustLit records in course packs and e-reserves for their bona fide students.

When using AustLit as an infomation resource for research you will not normally need to cite us, however, if you are quoting directly from any of the annotations, the biography or other notes, you should cite AustLit as: 'AustLit (www.austlit.edu.au), 2002-' and include the name of the author or work title.
