CONTACTING AUTHORS AND ORGANISATIONS

AustLit provides a wide range of information on Australian literature and sources; it does not however give access to authors' or publishers' contact details.

If you would like to contact an author or a publisher you will find some guidance below.

The first place to look when seeking to contact an author is on the internet. Many Australian authors have websites and AustLit has links to a large number of them. If you are a subscriber, search for the author by name and look for a website in the 'Works by' or 'Works about' columns.

website link

Here you will find a summary of the website and a direct link to it.

If you are not a subscriber to AustLit, or are unable to access AustLit through a subscriber - eg your state or local library - you can use one of the many search engines available on the Web, such as Google to find websites.

If you cannot find a website for the author you are interested in, you may be able to find information through their publishers, agents, or other literary organisations.

Another source of information is the published directories available in many library reference sections, such as:
Who's Who of Australian Writers (Melbourne: D. W. Thorpe and National Centre for Australian Studies, 1995)
or
The Writers Directory (London: St. James Press, 1971-)

Contacting Publishers

AustLit also has information on publishers that can be searched in the same as way as for authors.

There are also some other websites that you may find useful:
